R1Soft is a Citrix technology partner and is committed to providing Continuous Data Protection for XenServer.  The CDP Agent should be installed into each Windows or Linux Xen domU you wish to provide Continuous Data Protection for.  XenServer with Paravirtualization is supported.

*R1Soft highly recommends XenServer 5.0.0+ due to a XenServer Tools bug in the Windows virtual disk device driver in XenServer 4.0.  The XenServer Tools issue can prevent some Virtual Disks from properly being detected by the CDP Agent in MS Windows Server 2003 and 2008.  To resolve upgrade to XenServer 5.0.0 or greater.

XenSource with Windows or Linux domUs and Paravirtualization is supported. The R1Soft CDP Agent should be installed inside of each Windows or Linux Xen domU you wish to provide Continuous Data Protection for.

R1Soft is a Parallels/SWSoft Gold Technology partner.  Virtuozzo on Windows is supported.  The R1Soft CDP Agent should be installed into each Virtuozzo VPS you wish to provide Continuous Data Protection for.

Note: Please disable the Virtuozzo Volume Shadow Copy (VSS) Writer NT service inside of your VPS when installing the Windows CDP Agent.  It is not required for CDP and conflicts with the R1Soft CDP Volume Shadow Copy integration causing CDP shadow copies to fail.

The R1Soft CDP Agent can be installed in one of two ways:

1. A CDP Agent is installed only into the Hyper-V "Host" or "Physical Server".  In this mode you will get a quiesced snapshot of each Hyper-V Virtual Disk (VHD).  Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS) is used by the CDP Agent to quiesce and snapshot each virtual machine.
      
   You can simply restore the VHD as a file for disaster recovery.  You can not restore individual files inside of a VHD using this method (see method 2).
      
2. The CDP Agent is installed into each Virtual Machine "guest".  This requires an agent installation and license for each Virtual Machine.  Using this method you can restore any individual files inside of the Virtual Disk (VHD) AND perform disaster recovery of a Virtual Machine.
    
   This method is good for individual file restore and disaster recovery via Bare-Metal Restore.  The CDP Agent will use Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS) to quiesce and snapshot the VHD and applications running in the VM.  
   
   Important Note: Bare-Metal restore is now available for Windows 2008 Hyper-V VMs.

Note: Please update your MS Virtual Servers to the latest updates from MS.  Older versions of MS Virtual Server have known issues with MS Volume Shadow Copy.
