The Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS) is used by CDP to produce a point-in-time snapshot of the disk volume, delivering protection for locked and open files.  Optional Multi-Volume snapshots can snapshot across multiple disks.

With CDP technology you can browse your file system and select any combination of files and folders to be excluded from your data protection policy.  Add advanced excludes rules using patterns to exclude only certain file types.

R1Soft uses industry standard zlib for safe and reliable 2:1 compression.  Data is compressed at the block-level and only stored once until it changes or is no longer needed.

Define a CDP replication goal for example: every 15 minutes, or every hour, or every 4 hours.  Then define how many recovery points you will retain.  Old recovery points are automatically merged and their storage is recycled.

In addition to your regular backups, corporate and regulatory requirements often require the archiving of data at certain intervals (for example, monthly or annually).  Define an archiving policy for your recovery points to ensure your retention requirements are supported.
