System Requirements

A base deployment of Backup for Data Centers consists of at least 3 servers:

1 x Control Server
2 x Backup Server
1 x User Interface Web Server

See example deployment scenarios   to see the different ways you can grow and deploy Backup for Data Centers

Control Server Requirements

The following are system requirements for the Control Server.  We highly recommend a dual processor server.
Memory Requirements 1 GB
Optimal 32-bit systems: 2 GB
64-bit systems: 2 GB (or more for better performance)
Storage The control server stores the backup database and log files.  We recommend having at least 50 GB of storage available on this server.
Processors
X86 Processors Righteous Backup is tested on Intel Xeon, and is supported on all IA32 compliant chipsets using the MMX instruction set. This includes:
Intel Xeon
Intel Pentium II and higher
Intel Celeron
AMD Opteron and Athlon and all other compatible CPUs from these and other vendors.
EM64T and AMD64 Processors The Intel EM64T and AMD64 group includes the following CPUs:
Intel Xeon and Pentium with EM64T
Compatible chips from other vendors, including AMD Opteron and AMD Athlon 64
Note: When a 32-bit operating system is installed on 64-bit hardware, the operating system will run as if it were an x86 (32-bit) system. This means that the machine is supported with the 32-bit x86 version of Righteous Backup in all places where it says "x86" in the list of supported configurations.
Supported Operating Systems
Supported Linux Versions The following versions of Linux:
* Almost any Linux distribution with a 2.6 Linux kernel
Supported Windows Versions The following versions of Microsoft Windows are supported for the designated backup server:
Microsoft Windows 2000 Server family
Microsoft Windows Server 2003 family
Microsoft Windows XP
Microsoft Windows Storage Server 2003
Microsoft Small Business Server 2000/2003 Standard and Premium
Web Server Requirements
The following are system requirements for a User Interface Web Server node.
Memory Requirements 1 GB
Optimal 32-bit systems: 2 GB
64-bit systems: 2 GB (or more for deployments handling hundreds of concurrent users per server)
Storage The Web Server does not store any data locally.  You will need approximately 500 MB to install the software
